In operational terms, the knowledge system enables four fundamental functions of central to overall Cyber-IR@MIT capabilities and forms of usage:
- Knowledge organization in the form of ontology to enable data generation, stored, and management in distributed modes,
- Framework usage of ontology for retrieving, storing, and distributing an evolving knowledge base consisting of basic information of, and pointers to, quality-controlled selected or submitted materials,
- Leverage of search options for extraction of content from the knowledge base, and
- Systematic process for submission of content.
These functions are central to the design and construction of Cyber-IR@MIT, an interactive knowledge base. Link.
