U.S. and Dominican Republic to face shared threats in cyberspace

Abstract:

The United States and the Dominican Republic have agreed to cooperate on cybersecurity issues to address shared threats in cyberspace. The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation on cybersecurity and cybercrime, which includes information sharing, capacity building, and joint training exercises. The agreement recognizes the importance of a coordinated approach to cybersecurity, given the global nature of cyber threats and their potential impact on both countries' national security, economy, and society. The partnership also highlights the United States' commitment to promoting cybersecurity capacity building and information sharing in the Caribbean region and within the Organization of American States (OAS). The collaboration between the United States and the Dominican Republic is expected to serve as a model for other countries in the region to enhance their own cybersecurity capabilities and strengthen regional cybersecurity cooperation.
