This paper reviews research into machine learning and deep learning techniques for the detection of network intrusion. There is also a short explanation of each technique as well as the datasets used to detect abnormalities and analyze them. Finally, the paper also reviews issues associated with ML and DL techniques as well as offers potential future analysis to be done in the field.
