How to Maintain Cybersecurity for Your Remote Workers

Abstract:

Due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, many workers have had to move out of office and work remotely. As many companies have realized and implemented recently (prior to the pandemic), working from personal devices poses major security threats to the company. It is in general commonly agreed that the weakest link to the cybersecurity chain is the people that work at the company. Hackers are able to access personal devices through various and more general means versus a company supplied device (as workers will only perform work related tasks on such devices). Thus, companies should add extra firewalls and authentications to prevent an attack from the inside; in particular, companies should look out for phishing attacks. Lastly, companies should all mandate a cybersecurity awareness training to keep employees from letting in hackers.
