Cyber risk and cybersecurity: a systematic review of data availability

Abstract:

Cybercrime in 2020 cost the global economy nearly 50% more than in 2018, with cyber insurance claims rising as well by nearly 150% as well. With rising intensity in cybercrime, it becomes necessary for better, more standardized flows of information, reporting, and public awareness of cyber information. This article searches through 5219 cyber studies and developed 79 unique datasets to systematically categorize this information. This lack of information indicates a critical gap in understanding of cyber risks.
