China’s Cyber Capabilities ‘Pose a Serious Threat’ to US, Advisory Panel Warns

Abstract:

This article highlights a report the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission gave to Congress in 2022 discussing the threat of China’s cyber capabilities on the U.S. The report states China “poses a formidable threat to the United States in cyberspace today.” China has grown increasingly sophisticated and aggressive in its cyber-espionage and cyber-warfare over the past decade. The report highlights how the readiness of the U.S. to respond to the China cyber problem can be questioned and recommendations for Congress on how to deal with this threat are laid out.
