What Is Zero Trust? It Depends What You Want to Hear

Abstract:

There has been a common misconception as to what zero trust truly means. Many people treat it like a “magic bullet” to cyber breaches, and slap the label on a product they may have. Zero trust is at its core a concept – it is the idea that both outsiders and insiders cannot be trusted. It places more and new restrictions on employees so that they only have access to what they need and nothing more. Zero trust doesn’t necessarily deter cyber breaches, it does, however, minimize damages during such breaches.
