TOP-SECRET NSA REPORT DETAILS RUSSIAN HACKING EFFORT DAYS BEFORE 2016 ELECTION

Abstract:

In the 2016 United States voting Russian hackers were able to infiltrate voting machines, advertise fake political information, and more. The full extent of Russia’s infiltration is not certain, but an official interview from President Vladimir Putin denies any attempt of cyber hacking. The NSA has now been able to determine how Russia targeted systems connected to voter registration among other spear-phishing attacks. Spear-phishing attacks are emails that are posed as an e-voting vendor, but then when users open up attached documents, they actually allow dangerous malware to spread and give hackers full control of infected computers.
