Suspected Iranian hack hits Israeli LGBT site; users fear leak of personal info
The nature of warfare has changed over the years. Starting with the beginning of last century, all the conflicts involved soldiers fighting on the battlefield. After the second world war, nuclear weapons has acted as a strong deterrence from direct military escalation of two nuclear powers. Thus, a lot of the wars were fought via poxies. The same is true about the current Iran-Israel and Iran-Saudi Arabia proxy wars. The rise of drones has significantly changed the warfare by not requiring any human to be present and being able this way to conduct strike from big distances. Israel has used them on numerous occasions for strikes against Iran. Currently we can see the development of a cyberwar that does not quite fit the previous classifications. The reason for this is that the target is not just military but the country, civil population and companies as well. The article talks about Iranian attack on a LGBT app in Israel after Israel’s attack on fuel distribution system in Iran. By conduction the warfare in the cyberdomain, both countries have a smaller risk of escalation.
