Spear Phishing with Large Language Models

Abstract:

A discussion on the current capability of large language models (LLMs) to generate spear-phishing texts. An cursory introduction to the capabilities of LLMs and their capacity to construct social-engineering messages for cybercrime applications is provided in this text. The author then generates and showcases spear phishing emails as an example. Useful for those interested in a high-level overview and analysis of the potential of LLMs to cause problems in the area of social engineering. This text is purely theoretical, and while example phishing messages are generated, it is not a case study or a statistical analysis.
