Quantum Communication for Post-Pandemic Cybersecurity

Abstract:

Society’s increasing dependence on networks will lead to greater risk as “hacking becomes more skilled”. The advent of quantum technologies pose to drastically change the cyber landscape. Quantum computing may be able to break traditional encryption methods. However, quantum innovation could yield hack-resistant algorithms, and quantum communication which ensures secure communication. Libicki and Gompert propose a “public-private strategy for the United States”, which utilizes quantum technology at the both “high-end and mass” levels.
