The UNCTAD Global Cyberlaw Tracker monitors the legal frameworks of 195 UNCTAD member states in five areas considered critical in cyberspace: “e-transactions, consumer protection, data protection/privacy, cybercrime, and indirect taxation”.
A summary map categorizes countries by how many of these five areas they have enacted legislation in using color coding to illustrate global and regional trends.
The tracker also presents the percentage of countries with laws in each area: 90% for e-transactions, 60% for consumer protection, 80% for data privacy, 90% for cybercrime, and 51% for indirect taxation.
