China has the world’s largest number of internet users and has been engaged in competition in the globe for cyberspace governance. This article focuses on China’s approach to cyberspace governance. This article specifically focuses on contributions made by China over the last decade to global cyberspace reform through a patch-work approach. This article also focuses on the increasingly active role that China has in global cyber governance as they enhance their own cyber capacity. While many developed countries advocate internet freedom, China plans to continue upholding the principle of cyber sovereignty.
