This stark discrepancy highlights the inefficacy of current cybersecurity measures in the face of advancing technologies, particularly the rise of artificial intelligence and generative AI. These technologies are fundamentally changing software usage, increasing the complexity of software’s attack surfaces, and making systems more vulnerable to cyber threats. Companies must fundamentally rethink their security programs to align with the changing nature of software and data use, suggesting that a shift in approach is necessary to effectively counteract the growing insecurities of the digital world.
