The VA Data Breach Response Services is tasked with handling all privacy and security-related national events that enter their tracking system. The ultimate purpose of tracking such data and activities is to determine whether veterans and their families have been victims of data breaches, or vulnerable to having their sensitive information compromised. Such information is then used to determine whether veterans, dependents and other persons of interest are eligible for compensation or credit-protection services. This specific dataset is from 4/1/2021 to 6/30/2021, and it details a total of 615 notifications sent to people relevant to data breaches, as well as 502 letters of credit protection. This number does not seem credible, as just May of 2021 shows a data breach of 200000 VA patients’ health records. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/cybersecurity/200-000-va-patients-health-records-found-exposed-online.html
