Cybersecurity when working from home during COVID-19: considering the human factors

Abstract:

This study looks at how Australian employees dealt with cybersecurity while working from home during COVID-19. It found that stress, home setups, lack of knowledge, and old technology made it hard for them to practice good cybersecurity habits. The authors suggest that companies should consider these personal factors when making cybersecurity rules and training, instead of assuming everyone is the same. They say a more understanding approach, rather than blaming employees, would help people learn to protect themselves and the company better while working remotely.
