Cybersecurity of Smart Electric Vehicle Charging: A Power Grid Perspective

Abstract:

This paper explores the role of cybersecurity in protecting an expanding fleet of electric vehicle power sources. Different vulnerabilities and backdoors are discussed as well as why this problem is so important to solve. The presented issues are intended to spark efforts into addressing how vulnerable EVs are, as well as augment the existing protections against demand-side present in the power grid against cyberattacks today.
