The DeepFakes project at the MIT Media Lab built this website with the aim of letting people test their ability at recognizing DeepFakes. It is an interesting tool that helps reveal the difficult challenge of Deep Fake Detection (as well as providing better training data for automated deep fake detection models). DeepFakes are a grave cyberthreat that is already looming, and being able to detect deepfakes programmatically is an extremely challenging problem, as human beings will almost barely be able to tell the difference. Bad actors can rewrite the past and present with this technology, and the only way forward is to educate people, and build better tools that can spot the DeepFake video.
