Azerbaijan’s drones owned the battlefield in Nagorno-Karabakh — and showed future of warfare

Abstract:

This is related to the capabilities and weapons type in conflict dynamics. The article discusses how drones have become relatively inexpensive and have changed the way war is conducted. Both countries have previous escalations but what sets the last conflict apart is the heavy usage of drones by the Azeri side, which resulted in massive losses on the Armenian side compared with Azeri side. The drones are controlled remotely and thus do not need humans on board. Because they are not so expensive, this provides a new possibility of launching remote missile attacks without human casualties.
