AI and Cybersecurity: A New Era

The authors begin by describing how AI works in regards to pattern recognition and how AI can surpass even experts in certain aspects. The authors continue onto speaking about how AI affects us in almost all that we do. This includes our protection in cybersecurity. The authors explain that there are many improvements due to progression in AI that we can implement to keep our accounts and data safer. Some ways AI can protect include finding suspicious attacks and finding weaknesses in protection already in place. The authors also show the opposite side though too. They explain that, similarly to how AI helps protection, it also aids hackers. Some examples are improving fakes to trick unsuspecting employees or individuals. Furthermore, “Cybercriminals exploit AI to improve the algorithms they use for deciphering passwords” (Wealth Management). Overall AI is improving on both sides of cyber. Therefore, the authors suggest the reader to stay safe by keeping up with suggested guidelines and necessary protocols in regards to anything technological.
