After SpaceX’s requests, Taiwanese suppliers move manufacturing abroad, sources say

Abstract:

This article details the geopolitical tensions surrounding SpaceX requesting their manufacturers to move their capabilities out of Taiwan, followed by further claims of Taiwanese sovereignty in relation to China. As evidenced in the previous article, the interplay between US private industry and government interests is becoming increasingly alinear and brings into question the power of industry titans and their influence in global struggles for democracy.

Further, it is clear that these manufacturing decisions indicate larger strategic factors at play and could be a preemptive measure to further land acquisitions on behalf of the Chinese government. Manufacturers and vendors alike are looking into non-Taiwanese alternatives for their products and services, which could indicate a small but increasingly relevant shift to a slow yet measured acquisition of Taiwan.
