The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) plans to equip more students with cybersecurity skills to enhance the country’s national digital defence under the Sentinel Program. The Program aims to raise awareness of cyber threats among the younger generation and cultivate a pool of cyber talent. Under the initiative, the SAF will work with local schools and institutes of higher learning to develop cybersecurity training programs, such as cybersecurity camps, competitions, and courses. The SAF will also provide cybersecurity training to its full-time national servicemen and is exploring collaborations with industry partners, such as the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, to offer more learning opportunities. The initiative is part of Singapore’s national effort to build a secure and resilient digital infrastructure and strengthen the country’s cybersecurity capabilities.
