Cyber Security Infrastructure in India: A Study

Abstract:

This paper delves into a case study about existing cyber security infrastructure in India, noting that failure to keep up with advancements could significantly impact society. The authors present an infrastructure threat matrix which breaks down the threats based on physical and cyber means/tools and targets, noting that the integration of ICTs and related systems provides weak points that are susceptible to attack. As such, specified underlying strategies at the regional, national, and international levels are necessary to allow for a sense of dependability00 and confidence in the overall structure and provide a plan for what to do if malicious attacks occur. With regard to India, as the IT sector has continued to expand quickly, there has not been adequate preparation for potential disasters, and the responsibility have been spread across many actors after liberalization. By comparing India’s cybersecurity to that of the USA’s, we see that there are major differences in terms of structure within government and policy. Overall, India’s system needs to be analyzed and reword to provide more consistent protection across all levels.
