Senate passes bill to secure internet-connected devices against cyber vulnerabilities

Abstract:

This article talks about new laws that require internet-connected devices have to meet the minimum security recommendations issued by NIST. Making the devices safe by default would help a lot in the fight against cyber crimes as many attacks would be stopped by the device itself. Seems like it would be a good solution if each device has a high standard of safety to match. Shifting the responsibility to the device instead of the users might be the right move in the cybersecurity world.
