Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, cybercrimes have increased drastically. The number of malware infections has been increasing by over 100 million each year and are mostly found through e-mail. Ransomware attacks, which is when a user’s data is encrypted unless paying a ransom, increased by 350% in 2018 and expected to cost $6 trillion by 2021 annually with the many businesses being targeted. A large percentage of cybercrimes rely on social engineering, which involves manipulating people to make them release personal information to a seemingly trustworthy source. Cyber security and cybercrimes cost companies millions on average and expected to cost more in the coming years.
