During the pandemic a digital crimewave has flooded the internet

Abstract:

With the pandemic forcing many in person interaction online, there has been a large uptick in cybercrime. People are currently spending more money over the internet than ever before, and retail fraud has increased at similar rates. The primary method of attack is phishing attacks, followed by the creation of fake websites that are meant to resemble the websites of established companies/banks/organizations, to collect user login credentials. Ransomware attacks against larger companies and organizations has also seen an increase. The pandemic has only accelerated a trend, and if people plan to continue working remotely, the continued increase of cybercrime will become more and more dangerous.
