Ensuring Cyber-security in Remote Workforce: Legal Implications and International Best Practices

Abstract:

This paper discusses the challenges and strategies related to cybersecurity in the context of remote work, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and compliance with legal frameworks like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The research was conducted using databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, focusing on recent literature from 2020 onwards. The study highlights various cybersecurity threats that have become more prevalent with the increase in remote work, including ransomware attacks, man-in-the-middle (MitM) attacks, and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Key recommendations for enhancing cybersecurity in remote work environments include implementing strong access controls, user authentication protocols, regular security awareness training, and maintaining up-to-date security measures on all devices used by remote workers. The document emphasizes the necessity of international regulations and best practices in cybersecurity to protect sensitive data and ensure the resilience of digital infrastructures against cyber threats.
