Cyber Security through Blockchain Technology

Abstract:

This article, “Cyber Security through Blockchain Technology,” by Alex R. Mathew, explores the application of blockchain technology in cybersecurity, with a focus on protecting Internet of Things (IoT) devices, networks, and data. The paper synthesizes the insights of 30 researchers on the use of blockchain to address current cybersecurity challenges. It highlights blockchain’s potential to provide immutable, distributed, and decentralized security solutions, making it significantly harder for adversaries to compromise data integrity or gain unauthorized access. Particularly, the study emphasizes the technology’s applicability in securing IoT devices, which are often vulnerable due to weak security configurations. Furthermore, it discusses blockchain’s role in ensuring data security and network protection against unauthorized access and DDoS attacks. The paper concludes by recommending the development of unified blockchain platforms to enhance integration and uniformity among cybersecurity solutions.
