The article evaluates China’s data governance policy. The authors “depict the development trajectory, analyze the policy subjects involved into the policy-making, trace the sources of policy, and characterize the policy tool structure based on the policy coding.” (Abstract) Ultimately, they conclude that China is deficient in data governance awareness and multiple policy tools should be introduced and implemented.
